Kristen Lonner

Principal

Kristen is an experienced outreach specialist and political strategist with an extensive career in the public and private sector.  Neighborhood Forward is the outgrowth of many years working in the entitlement and development space, honing her communication skills in lock step with development projects.  Kristen has perfected the art of communicating the benefits of development in a manner that community members not only understand but are willing to get behind.

Getting her start working in the City of Los Angeles as the Chief Planning Deputy to Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski, Kristen had the opportunity to learn under fire.  Later as the Chief of Staff to Los Angeles Unified School District’s New Construction Program, Kristen assisted in promoting one of the largest public works projects in the nation repositioning such controversial projects as The Robert F. Kennedy Learning Center and Vista Hermosa and many more.

The decision to join the private sector in lobbying and land use seemed like a natural step using her strength in being able to talk to people about development and build consensus.  Kristen takes the time necessary to build rapport with community members and meets them on their level of understanding.

Now, almost 20 years into a career in public affairs and outreach, Kristen founded Neighborhood Forward, a woman owned business specializing in crafting conversations surrounding the benefits of development in our local neighborhoods.

In addition to her work, Kristen is active in her own community serving on her temple executive board as well as chairing her children’s school fundraising committee.
